How Atlas works
Every badge sheet on the site links here. This is the whole system in plain language: where profiles come from, what the badges mean, and how money does and does not shape what you see.
Where profiles come from
Atlas researchers assemble each listing from a named public source: the clinic's own website or Facebook page, or a public map record. The source and the date we last checked it appear on every profile. When a detail is not in the source, we say it is not yet confirmed instead of guessing.

The clinic's owner or staff verified they run this clinic and can correct its facts. Not a clinical-quality assessment.
An Atlas editor reviewed the profile with the clinic; facts and photos are clinic-approved. Not a ranking or endorsement.
What money can and cannot buy
Clinics can pay for featured placement in the clearly labeled Featured rail. Payment never changes a clinic's badge, its position in the directory, or the language we use about it. Directory order reflects how complete and confirmed a profile is, nothing else. Every commercial relationship is disclosed with a chip you can tap on the profile itself.
Photos
Photos appear only after the clinic approves publication. Until then, a profile shows a neutral placeholder and the photo's rights status is listed under sources and checks.
What Atlas is not
Atlas is not a medical service and does not rate clinical quality. A listing, a claim, or an editorial review tells you how much of a profile has been checked, never whether a clinic is right for you. Verify a dentist's license yourself through the PRC and put your clinical questions to the clinic directly.
