An implant is one part of the replacement
A dental implant is a medical device placed in the jaw to support a replacement tooth or teeth. The complete restoration can also include an abutment and a crown, bridge, or denture. Ask the clinic to name every component in your proposed plan.
Assessment comes before the procedure
Your overall and oral health, bone and gum condition, medicines, smoking history, imaging, and treatment goals can affect whether implants are appropriate. A general guide cannot determine candidacy or replace an examination.
Ask about stages, records, and maintenance
Ask what you would receive on the procedure day, whether anything is temporary, how healing and follow-up are handled, and what maintenance may be required. Request the implant brand and model in writing for future records and parts.
